Modeling in Maya

Here is a car I modeled in Maya. I have not taken any 3D/CGI classes yet, so I have just been teaching myself in the meantime.

I modeled it using polygon forms and the extrusion tool to extrude the faces. Then I smoothed it using the hotkeys.

My final project for Visual Concepts 4. This video is somewhere between a documentary and a narrative.

Techniques used were:

-static and motion camera angles
-sound mixing using microaudio recorders

-Color correction

-Edited in Final Cut Express

A strange structure creates hex nuts that seem to have a mind of their own.

This was a stop-motion project for my Visual Concepts 4 class. It was also my first stop-motion attempt.

It Came From the Flower Pot!

A plant comes to life!

My first 2D hand-drawn animation.

Software:
-Pencil software (free and open-source); for drawing the character layers
-Sketchbook (Autodesk); for drawing the background layers

Hardware:
-Intuos4 tablet (Wacom)

My favorite part about the sequence was the running. I really liked playing with the plant's roots and posing them as legs. It was especially interesting to make him trip over the flower pot edge towards the end.

I also enjoyed the level of detail needed to draw the background.
